1. Design a morning fitness routine
Physical fitness not only benefits the body but it also sharpens the mind.
The best time to do so is in the morning. Engaging your children in some sort of physical activity will keep them active as well as it will nurture in them the importance of exercises and of being healthy. They will feel energized throughout the day. Instead of making it a compulsion over them, you could put on a fun dance workout, or simple yoga poses or take a jog around the block.
Try to involve yourself with them, so that it is a fun time together. This will also aid you in bonding with them.
2. A healthy diet makes a healthy you
Studies show that eating breakfast is a healthy way to start your day.
Morning breakfast will not keep your stomach full but it will make you and your children fare well mentally. You can provide healthy brain foods like protein, fiber, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables for sustained mental as well as physical energy throughout the day.A healthy body will make a mind sharp. Therefore a proper diet is necessary for the children.
If possible, avoid giving junk foods to kids which will not give any nutrition.

3. Making learning fun!
Learning need not be stressful. Rather you can make their learning more playful and fun.
You could try enjoyable activities such as songs, card games, ball toss or association games during study time to destress the study experience. Memory skills are like a muscle that grows with use. Playing memory games is also very instrumental in nurturing your child’s brain. You could use experimental toys such as physics gifts which would help them not only in learning practically but also broaden their mindsets.
Also, it is equally important for children to engage in extracurricular activities such as swimming, skating, basketball, gymnastics, and karate. This will keep your kids active physically and also their imagination power will grow. Limit your child’s video games and TV time.
Learning need not be stressful.
4. Get plenty of rest
“Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”.
A healthy mind depends on proper sleep and a nutrition-packed diet. They both go hand-in-hand. A child needs around 10-12 hours of sound sleep at night. Make use of all sorts of materials to nurture your child’s imagination.
The more they experiment, the more they will grow and the more active and healthy their minds will be. Try to involve them in more activities like waste management, Art and craft.
5. Encourage reading and writing
Reading with kids is good for their intellectual development. It is one of the most effective ways of learning new things.
There are lots of materials available that you could give your kids to read such as storybooks, magazines, novels and chapter books. Actively engage your kids in their reading on new topics. Some active reading strategies would include taking notes and highlighting, speaking aloud and answering questions about the material that they are reading, at times enacting what they read.
Ask them to visualize stories in the order that they will remember the theories behind those stories.
These variety of factors such as eating a proper diet, physical exercise, getting good rest and performing certain brain training exercises are all helpful in aiding to sharpen your child’s brain.
